Lucky Irish Gris Gris
Not many people know this, but the “luck of the Irish” didn’t start until the spring of 1845, right here in New Orleans, LA. When the down and out potato farmer, Stanley O’Conner, decided he finally had enough with potatoes, he sought out the infamous Voodoo witch doctor, Cornelius Majumbo for some new luck.
Stanley was sick of his flailing potato sales and was ready for some real cash. He and Cornelius hatched an ingenious marketing scheme that would forever associate the four leaf clover and Irishmen with luck and good fortune.
St. Patrick’s day was born!
