About Us

SHULTZILLA is a New Orleans-focused apparel company that can be found online and at pop up markets around the city. Started by Aimée Shultz Miller and Jeremy Miller, the two designers combined ideas, money, and last names; and SHULTZILLA was born in November 2009. A few days after the website launched, the two got engaged.

Now husband and wife, Aimeé and Jeremy re-energize from the daily grind by creating designs for SHULTZILLA that are mainly based on humor. The designers, gaining inspiration from pretty much everything found throughout the city of New Orleans, started the company because they wanted to create work for themselves as opposed to clients.

In January 2011, the couple started a separate venture–JAM Creative, which is a print and digital communications design firm.

Through both SHULTZILLA and JAM, Aimée and Jeremy simply enjoy working together. They figure if you have to work, may as well as do it with someone you love! The talented duo yields sharp wit, keen design sense, and the drive to be really, really awesome. So add some items to your shopping cart and support the cause!

What’s In A Name?

Wondering why the company is called SHULTZILLA? When SHULTZILLA was first started, Aimée and Jeremy were not married yet. The two decided to combine both of their last names–Shultz and Miller–rendering SHULTZILLER. That just didn’t seem to flow well, so in true New Orleans yat speak, they dropped the -er ending and added an -a. And voila! SHULTZILLA.

SHULTZILLA then needed a face and one that was a little cuter than Godzilla. Moe was created. Feeling something was missing on the green monster, Aimée said Moe needed some hair. Aimée used to have blue hair and to her that symbolized her youth and free spirit. Jeremy had said he always wanted a mohawk. Combining youth, free spirit, and hip, Moe grew hair–a blue mohawk–yet another melding of characteristics of the two designers.

Who We Are

Aimee Shultz Miller

Aimée is originally from Meraux, Louisiana and still visits her family in the parish frequently. After receiving a BFA with a concentration in graphic design from LSU, Aimée worked as both a designer and project manager at several ad and design agencies in Baton Rouge. She moved to the Greater New Orleans area in 2010 and now works for both JAM Creative and SHULTZILLA.

Favorite SHULTZILLA design:
“I like our P.E. tee. It’s a targeted audience tee that usually only people in their mid 20s- early 30s get the real meaning of. It’s a play on a line from DJ Jubilee’s “Get it Ready,” which was played at ALL high school dances throughout the GNO area. Other people are able to relate to the times when someone asks you what school you went to because you know they don’t mean college! I also dig the Crescent City type tee. I like the simplicity of the design and use of typography.”

Interests:
Art, design, yoga, New Orleans, travel, style, photography, reading, just about anything vintage, event and party planning, and most importantly, family, friends, and Buster

Jeremy Miller

Favorite SHULTZILLA design:
“I’m a fan of our “Drill Baby Drill” tee. Last year we were at Oktoberfest at the Deutsches Haus doing German marches and a woman was on the opposite side of me. Every time we’d meet in the middle and toast she’d say “I love your shirt!!” and point at my tee. After the song ended, she came up to me and we started talking. After a minute, she said “You don’t look like a Republican!” I said, “Thanks?!” with a kind of confused face. A few seconds later she must have realized that the shirt also said “Spill Baby Spill.” At that point, her face turned sour and she walked away. We got her good!

Of course, I also like our “Always Humid” tee. It’s clever and even though it’s targeted to a specific audience (people familiar with the FX TV show), people who don’t know about the show still think it’s funny… because it’s true!”

Interests:
Lorem ipsum.

Buster Miller

Buster is a 3-1/2 year old beagle. Aimée and Jeremy first met Buster at Zeus’s Place in December 2011. He was a rescue dog that was found when the spillway was opened in May 2011. Buster is a bad-ass dog and he has the scars to prove it. This little guy was caught in a bear trap that crushed his little front right paw. That doesn’t stop him from jumping and running, though! Aimée convinced Jeremy that Buster’s sweet little face belonged in their family photos. Jeremy agreed. Buster became part of the Miller family on December 13, 2011. This little dog-man became internationally famous when he was featured in HOW Magazine’s September 2012 issue, pictured next to his proud owners.

Favorite SHULTZILLA design:
“Ruff…ruff…ruff, ruff, ruff. My favorite design is “I Love My Mom ‘n’ Dem.” First, because I love my mom and them so much- I have the best family ever. Second, I like the design because it just looks cool. Ruff!”

Interests:
Running around the yard, playing chase, fetching toys, getting treats, dog parks, riding in the car, Kibbles ‘n Bits, and being told how cute I am!
